Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come out and be part of our event – we know the weather was freezing, the winds were at a record high, and the rain didn’t help, but I know everyone did their best and we really do appreciate everyone coming out to support us and our efforts to promote Malaysia. A special mention to those who stood in the rain (and there were a lot of you who did) to cheer on the amazing performers – who would’ve been freezing in their light costumes.
Thank you once again, and words cannot say how appreciative we are of your support.
On behalf of the committee for 2009, I would like to apologize for any shortcomings that we’ve had and hopefully, we can continue to improve in the future.
Kind regards,
Aida Zabidi
Fiesta Malaysia Project Manager 2009
Our first bit of publicity just came out today, courtesy of Neville D’Cruz of Bernama.
Please check us out at The Star, Bernama or the Malaysian Insider – three different places running the same story.
And once again, come along and support us at Fiesta on the 27th of September 2009!
Thanks!
Thank you to those who came to our volunteers meeting yesterday.
For those who were unable to make it, please bear in mind that we will be having another meeting on the 19th of September 2009!
Thanks!
We are honoured to announce the presence of the Deputy High Commissioner, Mr Fadil Shamsuddin, and his colleague Counsellor Irham Hisham from the High Commission of Malaysia, Canberra, at our opening ceremony.
Fiesta Malaysia appreciates the support from the High Commission and thanks the High Commissioner, Dato’ Salman Ahmad for his ongoing support.
Are you dynamic, hardworking, motivated and am proud of being Malaysian? Do you like organizing events? Do you have great PR skills?
Do you dare take up the challenge?
Fiesta is looking for highly motivated individuals to be part of the Fiesta Malaysia team for 2010 – this is a golden opportunity to be behind one of the biggest events in the Melbourne social calendar.
Like every event, there is a lot of work involved, but with a team behind you, and good support, you will be able to learn a lot, and it is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever encounter.
Take the opportunity to LEARN how to organize an event on a grand scale. Get involved with Malaysian businesses overseas. Learn how to network, and build up your contact list.
On top of it all, it looks great on your resume!
For all enquiries and expressions of interest, please email us at info@fiestamalaysia.org.
Cheers!

Dear Fiesta Malaysia Volunteers,
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Just a quick email to inform that there will be a briefing session for ALL volunteers this coming Saturday. The details are as below:
Day & Date: Saturday, 12th Sept 2009 & 19th Sept 2009
Time: 10 am – 12 pm
Venue: Milano Apartment’s Club Lounge (Next to Aldi on Franklin St.)
We have organized 2 briefing sessions, but you will need to choose and attend only ONE session. Please note that attendance is COMPULSORY. However if you really can’t make it to either one of the dates stated above, please let us know, we could perhaps arrange an alternative. For those who can come, please reply back to advise us on which session you will be attending. We would appreciate that very much!
This will be the only time we will be meeting the volunteer before the event, so it is extremely important for all of you to be there. Especially if you have any questions regarding volunteering on the day or the event itself; take this opportunity to ask us. We will try our best to answer them.
On the day, please contact either; Zahirah (0433 505 535) or Lyncia (0430 373 348) as you will need the access key to get into Milano. We would also like to kindly request you to be at Milano 10 minutes earlier so we could get all of you up to the club lounge at once, start on time and then finish earlier! If you guys have any questions, need directions or clarifications etc. feel free to email or contact one of us.
Last but not least, please be reminded that you will have to wear traditional clothes for Fiesta Malaysia on the 27th of September 2009!
Thank you and have a great week everyone!
See you Saturday!
Regards,
Zahirah & Lyncia
Volunteer Coordinators
Hi everyone,
Just an update about the next meeting. It will be this Saturday (22/8) at the Club Lounge, Milano & Verve Apartments, from 12-4 p.m. But please come to Milano so I can buzz buzz you up. There’s a few things that I need help with prior to the meeting.
So this week, we will continue with the bunga raya, batu seremban, colour the rice, if we can get the items in no.1, we can paint stuff, buat getah. But yes, quite a bit to get through. So I still need all the help I can get!!! Please!
And before I say goodbye, SELAMAT MENYAMBUT BULAN RAMADHAN everyone! Hope you’ll have a good puasa this year!
Kind regards,
Azaliya
Floor & Exhibits Manager
We are looking for volunteers for Fiesta Malaysia! We really need help from everyone to make this event the best it can be – and we wouldn’t be able to do it without those wonderful people called volunteers. Among the things you can volunteer for include:
Training will be provided, don’t worry, we definitely won’t toss you out there empty handed. Also, think of how good it would look on your CV, or alternatively think of that warm fuzzy feeling you could get!
To express your interest please leave your name on the Fiesta Malaysia Melbourne Facebook Group or e-mail us at info@fiestamalaysia.org
